Hayes Lovett, Kayla Radford, and Lauren Carraway present awards at the end of the Tennis Special Olympics ceremony on Wednesday, November 10th at the Greene Central High School Tennis Complex.

Nailah Ortega, son of Steve Davis of Snow Hill, was the runner-up in the boys' 10's division at the 14th annual Greene Central Fall Championships USTA Tournament this weekend.

Lori Thigpen will serve as the president of the Greene County Tennis Association in 2011.



Greene Central sophomore Anna Carpenter spent Saturday afternoon volunteering at the Greene Central Fall Championships.

Lauren Carraway was named the 2010 Eastern Plains Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year.  This is the second consecutive year she has claimed that honor.   Carraway finished her conference career without a loss in singles or doubles in four years of EPC matches.

Greene Central senior Lauren Carraway and sophomore Jessica Hatch won the 2010 Eastern 2-A Regional doubles championship on Saturday, October 23rd at the Greene Central High School Tennis Complex.    This was Carraway's fourth regional doubles championship.


Senior Lauren Carraway played her final regular season match of her illustrious career at Greene Central on Tuesday, October 5th.    Carraway won in singles and doubles against North Pitt.

The members of the 2010 Greene Central varsity women's tennis team are from left to right head coach Donald Clark, Hayes Lovett, Brittany Colie, Lauren Carraway, Laurie Sutton, Jessica Hatch, Kayla Radford, and managers Sam Overby and Harrison Welch.

Abby Sugg was back home from UNC on Saturday and stopped by the courts for a visit.
